Upcoming Features & Roadmap

Phase 1 — Q2–Q3 2026

AWS Digital Twin

Connect to a live AWS account and automatically replicate the full infrastructure topology — all services, connections, configuration values, and inter-service dependencies — onto the canvas. Continuously synchronised as the real environment evolves.

This enables "simulate the real world," safe change modelling, and before/after cost comparison against the as-deployed state. When available, this will be the recommended starting point for any optimisation project on existing infrastructure — rather than recreating the architecture manually.

Optimisation Dashboard

A unified view of all improvements identified and applied across all managed architectures: cumulative cost savings, throughput gains, latency reductions, reliability changes, and the open recommendation backlog. Primary ROI metric for engineering managers and platform teams.

Terraform HCL Generation

Auto-generate complete Terraform HCL from the canvas design (code generation, not just definition export). For teams with existing Terraform codebases, this means PinPole's design and simulation workflow can hand directly to existing infrastructure pipelines.

Containment Hierarchy

Account → VPC → Availability Zone → Subnet → Security Group as recursive spatial envelopes on the canvas. This is the prerequisite for network security zones and cross-boundary architecture, and will make simulation topology reflect real AWS network semantics.

Free Tier

1 project, 5 simulations per month, Constant traffic pattern, visual canvas with core services, 3 AI suggestions per month.

Phase 2 — Q3–Q4 2026

Network security zones — colour-coded zone envelopes with zone-aware connection validation (Internet → WAF → Public subnet → Private subnet → Isolated data tier).

Resilience pattern visualisation — standby node states, conditional circuit-breaker edge types, health-check pulse animation during simulation.

Async / event-driven semantics — distinct publish and subscribe edge types for SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and Kinesis; queue-depth visualisation bar on SQS nodes.

Caching layer visualisation — CloudFront hit/miss forked edge; cache hit rate animation.

GCP support — multi-cloud Phase 1.

Phase 3 — Q1–Q2 2027

Cross-boundary architecture, compliance canvas validation (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA), Azure support.

Phase 4 — Q2 2027 and beyond

Governed Automation — a fully autonomous pipeline from structured business case to validated, simulated, and deployed AWS infrastructure.

A JSON intent directive (workload profile, cost envelope, SLA targets, compliance requirements) is ingested, canonicalised, and converted automatically into a configured PinPole canvas. Architecture candidates are generated by the Governed Ideation Framework, evaluated against constraints, validated through three simulation scenarios (steady-state, peak spike, regional failure), and deployed with full cryptographic provenance from business case to live resource ARNs.
